Now more than ever we are being encouraged to practice mindfulness. Physicians, psychologists and nutritionists are all encouraging people to take time and be mindful.

Mindfulness simply put is paying full attention, some regard it as being fully present.

There are three major stages to practicing mindfulness:

  1. awareness
  2. attention
  3. attitude

Science has finally caught up with scripture, acknowledging man in his totality, as a physical, spiritual and emotional being.

Mindfulness has been found to benefit us physically, mentally and emotionally.

Let’s clarify some terms that are often interchanged, mental health is the ability to process, emotional health is the ability to express feelings based on what you have processed.

It is known that having an upbeat mental health has been linked to signs of good physical health. It has been shown to lower blood pressure, weight, risk of cardiovascular disease, stress, chronic pain and improve sleep and gastric distress.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (MSG)

May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!
