What incredible national turmoil our nation is facing. So this year, the opening portion of Awake! WNC (10 AM – 2 PM) will be more like a solemn assembly — a serious coming to God in prayer. Our prayers will focus on repentance and revival for our nation. We will gather in the fall, just before the presidential election. Pastors and prayer intercessors from around western NC will lead us, along with a few prominent Christian leaders who will exhort and inspire insights for our prayers (see Awake site for details).
The afternoon session for Awake! WNC will focus on equipping, and the evening on commitment, with a final challenge by Brother Yun, author of The Heavenly Man. Also, Franklin Graham agreed to videotape a special message for the Awake!event, which will include a report of his recent national tour.
Awake! WNC is much more than an event. It is designed to build God’s kingdom and to strengthen our lives and churches throughout the region of western NC. At the event, you will learn about key follow-up initiatives and seminars. Participants are invited from around the country as well, as we will focus much on the needs of our nation.
Please encourage your pastor and church to be involved. We are praying that 100 churches from around western NC to commit to attend Awake!We are also praying for participants from other regions and states to attend to help us pray over the nation and to be equipped to impact their areas. Registration is now open (capacity limited to about 3,500). Please forward this website URL to your pastor if you want to help bring churches together.
