Bella Vista was built on the mountainside next to our church and filled up pretty fast.  It’s a home for folks that have retired but do not need daily assistance.  They have a movie theater, hair salon, and three meals daily in the dining room.

Pastor Shekinah decided to volunteer and get to know the seniors a little better.  They come from a fairly diverse background, have a lot of different interests, and are some fascinating people.  Every Friday Pastor Shekinah heads over to call Bingo and to conduct a Bible Study (these rotate every Friday).

The Church at Asheville Choir takes the time to sing for them on the first Saturday of every month.  During the Holidays, they also perform a Christmas concert for them.

Taking the time to get to know people that have a lifetime of experiences can offer a peak into yesteryear but also serve to comfort them as you listen to their stories.  Anyone that wants to take some time with our senior neighbors can do so.  Are you ready to see what they can do in your life by taking the time to get to know them!?
